Notes for a new week.
1. Hatch or Go Bad
I found this empty nest on our wind-swept hill today. Winter walks refresh my heart and mind. What re-energizes you during this special time of year?
"It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad." C.S. Lewis
2. Latest Project: The Savvy Rose has a new vendor room at Your Needful Things in Binghamton! This week everything in the shop is 20% off because most items are geared towards Christmas. Help me make room for new items arriving this week!
Here is another set of wooden trees that will be headed to the shop this week (unless they are claimed here first! $35 at the store, $30 if you want them directly from me before they arrive in the shop. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to claim):
My next art workshop is January 18, 2020 at 1 PM. Choose a surface, choose a transfer to put on your surface, and you have access to my chalk pastes and a squeegee to make a beautiful home decor piece during our time together on 1/18/20! I will teach you how!
The cost information is in the surface images below. Email email@example.com to be added to the class list now and include your surface choice. Your design option can be chosen by visiting my Chalk Couture site at https://www.chalkcouture.com/sharonoconnor - look for Size A or Size B to go with the surfaces pictured below. I will send you a PayPal link for payment to order your surface and transfer before the class.
Want to create something beautiful without attending a live workshop? Chalk Box kits are your things! Watch this video to see how it works and than grab the kit of your choice on my Chalk Site.
4. Faith Focus:
"I feel the weight of my limitations creeping in as December begins. Will I ever complete my to-do list?
Will I run low on grace for my relatives as I host and attend large family gatherings? Will I dominate conversations at Christmas parties instead of drawing my friends into relationship?
Will I be diligent to complete an Advent devotional? As I take stock of the year, have I done enough this year to meet all my goals? Have I really been sanctified enough—or at all? December is a month that amplifies insecurities. Between all the Christmas celebrations, taking stock of our past year, and goal-planning for next year, old and buried insecurities tend to push their way to the surface. Under the intense pressure of this season, financial, social, relational, or personal insecurities leave us aching for something steadfast and reliable. In the midst of this shakiness, God is the only steadfast anchor for your soul. In His unchangeable nature, by the sealing of the Holy Spirit, and through Jesus the better High Priest, we find true security that cannot be shaken. We are secure in the unchangeable character of God." — Maggie Combs Keep reading this post on the #TrueWomanBlog ➡️ https://buff.ly/2LOxLmu
"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Colossians 3:15-17
